Founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Alejandro Badia with tips on why an immediate orthopedic care center is a better choice than the ER for orthopedic diagnosis and treatment.
OrthoNOW, a network of immediate care centers in South Florida reopened a couple of weeks ago with abbreviated hours and as of June 8th, 2020, has started its new extended hours schedule, with its Doral location now open M-F from 8am to 8pm and Sat from 9am to 3pm. NOW you have options, whether you want to come into one of the centers, when to come or if you would prefer to use telemedicine.
According to Founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Alejandro Badia, “these new hours of operation exceed our pre-pandemic levels and are offered to accommodate people who desperately need orthopedic care and realize that OrthoNOW is a better choice than the ER.”
Dr. Badia is also the author of the recently published book Healthcare from the Trenches in which he exposes systemic barriers that have led to skyrocketing health costs, lack of patient access and inefficient delivery of care.
Eric Rylander, VP of Operations at OrthoNOW adds, “many people are going back to work and juggling schedules with spouses, babysitters, home schooling and more. Some seniors are even beginning to feel safe about leaving home. But there are many patients who have been coping with pain, perhaps ignoring obvious symptoms and putting off needed orthopedic examinations and treatments.”
“We hope that patients with orthopedic issues can come to OrthoNOW for one stop shopping for pain relief,” adds Dr. Badia. Patients coming to OrthoNOW can get all the testing needed in one place and consult with a true specialist in diagnosing and treating pain. Rylander adds that “OrthoNOW saw a spike in demand for telemedicine during the pandemic, and that telemedicine continues to be a good choice for those concerned about immediacy, convenience, and social distancing.”
