June 2017 – OrthoNOW®, the nation’s first and only network of orthopedic urgent care franchise, announced that it has awarded its first Master Franchise Agreement in Michigan and simultaneously signed an Area Development Agreement in Augusta, Georgia. These awards are the latest for the chain, which already had operational centers in Florida and Georgia, and expands the brand’s footprint into the Midwest section of the United States.

OrthoNOW has 54 Master territories available across the US with the first being awarded to Kelly Olin for the state of Michigan. Kelly is a proven entrepreneur from metro Detroit with plans to open 32 centers across Michigan within five years. Mrs.  Olin said “As an entrepreneur, I am extremely passionate about solving problems, helping others and improving the overall health of the community.  The OrthoNOW concept is a unique opportunity to bring on demand orthopedic healthcare to Michigan, to support our active families and aging population.”

The Augusta, Georgia Area Development Agreement was secured by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Terry Arrington and orthopedic physician assistant Bernard Scherer. The duo has plans to open two centers within 18 months. Mr. Scherer said “Working in a general urgent care I kept seeing patients who needed access to a specialist and we could not help them. We wanted to be able to bring our orthopedic training into a setting that would provide excellent, timely, cost effective care to patients”.  Dr. Arrington added that “OrthoNOW provides a proven system that eliminates improper patient care and a provides downstream revenue and sustainability for the practitioner”.

Orthopedic medicine has a $48 billion impact on the U.S. economy annually. OrthoNOW, was Co-Founded by Dr. Alejandro Badia, Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon, and Wall Street executive and Wharton MBA, Justin Irizarry. The OrthoNOW model saves time and money while producing better outcomes and experiences for both the patient and the clinician.  The group began offering franchises in 2014 and recently, OrthoNOW was named a “Top Ten Franchise Opportunity” in healthcare, by Entrepreneur Magazine.  Strong interest in the brand is being fueled by historic changes in the traditionally recession proof healthcare industry and the model’s innovative disruption of traditional care delivery methods.

Chief Development Officer, and 20-year franchise industry veteran, Christine Dura said, “We are thrilled to welcome Kelly Olin, Dr. Terry Arrington and Bernard Scherer to the OrthoNOW family. These forward-thinking franchise owners understand the value of our ground floor opportunity. Utilizing our all-in-one package, they also achieve professional satisfaction by being able to provide convenient, responsive and affordable expert orthopedic urgent care for residents in their area”.
