Dr. Alejandro Badia, MD, FACS is the founder of the Badia Hand to Shoulder Center and OrthoNOW walk-in orthopedic care clinic. He also completed in the same clinical complex the Surgery Center at Doral, Integra Rehabilitation Center, and the International Orthopedic Group, composed of joint replacement, sports medicine, arthroscopy, foot and ankle reconstruction, and spine surgery sub-specialists.

Dr. Badia is an internationally renowned hand and upper extremity surgeon. Dr. Badia is co-founder of the Miami Anatomical Research Center (MARC), the largest and most technologically advanced cadaver-training centers in the world. Dr. Badia is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in America, as selected by the nation’s leading providers of information on top doctors whilst Becker’s Orthopedic & Spine Review chose him as one of the top 45 hand surgeons to know.

Dr. Badia studied physiology at Cornell University and obtained his medical degree at NYU, where he also trained in orthopedics. Dr. Badia’s medical complex is located at 3650 NW 82 Avenue in Doral.

Stephen Andreades, PA-C

OrthoNOW, Physician Assistant

Stephen Andreades obtained both his Bachelor’s of Science and Master of Science in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University. He worked as an assistant and head swimming and water polo coach for elite athletes for over 20 years before deciding to switch careers. His current desire to teach in the classroom is attributed to his dedication and commitment to coach and teach athletes succeed at their highest abilities.

Stephen Andreades is instrumental in orthopedic and musculoskeletal sections and surgical and procedure labs.  He also provides various lectures in different courses throughout the PA curriculum, including Clinical Pathophysiology, Clinical Medicine, and Physical Diagnosis.  Professor Andreades lives in Broward County and enjoys swimming, water polo, snowboarding, and spending time with his family.

Chad Edwards Clinician

Chad A. Edwards, DO


Chad Edwards, D.O. was born and raised in Utah. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Utah Valley University. He attended medical school at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona and Orthopedic Surgery residency in Miami. Dr. Edwards specializes in sports injuries and has worked with many athletic teams in Miami. He also has a special focus in musculoskeletal medicine and treatment. 

Jorge Garrote, PT, DPT, ACSM CEP


Jorge Garrote was born in Cuba and raised in Spain.  He attended Barry University for undergrad studies in exercise physiology and graduated in 2012.  During his time at Barry University he was involved in the Strength and Conditioning for the Athletics Department.  He received his Certified Exercise Physiology with the American College of Sports Medicine shortly afterwards. Dr. Garrote graduated from Florida International University with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2016 with a focus in the orthopedic population.  Hobbies include spear fishing, soccer, and travel. 

Brian Goldmark Clinician

Brian Goldmark, M.S., PA-C, has over 6 years of experience as a Physician Assistant specializing in orthopedic care.  Brian has worked at both Lenox Hospital in New York and Baptists Hospital in Miami.  Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Vanderbilt University and Master of Science Degree from Hofstra University and is also BLS and NCCPA Certified.  Brian’s interests include golfing, travel and exploring new cuisines.

Shamiyaaz (Shami) Jauhari, PA-C is an Emergency and Orthopedic Medicine Physician Assistant for over four years in Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area.  He earned his Masters Degree of Clinical Medical Science from Barry University and Bachelor of Science Degree, Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Florida International University.  Shami Is also multilingual in English, Spanish and Urdu.

Carlos Pacheco, PA-C

Carlos Pacheco was born in Mexico and raised in Miami.  Carlos spent 12 years in the Army serving as a combat medic and participated in 6 combat tours. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at Florida International University, graduating with honors before attending Barry University for his Physician Assistant studies.  Carlos is bilingual in English and Spanish.  In his off time, Carlos enjoys spending time with his family, photography and crossfit.

Reginald Perard Clinician

Reginald Perard, ARNP-C


Reginald Perard, ARNP-C, has over 15 years advanced practitioner experience managing chronic health conditions and urgent care.  His career transcends Retail Healthcare, ICU, Progressive Care Unit, and Emergency Room care settings.  Previous experience includes working with prestigious organizations such as CVS MinuteClinic, Advanced Spine and Joint Institute, University of Miami Hospital, and Ingenios Health.

Reggie has earned certifications in ACLS, PALS, BLS, and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  He was University of Miami Nursing Scholar and earned the Miami Northwestern Sports Medicine Award.

Reggie is also multi-lingual in English, Spanish and Creole. 

Devoted husband and father of three, Reggie enjoys spending time with family, watching and playing sports, music, dancing and travel.

Amanda Pina, PA


Amanda Pina graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida International University in 2010. Amanda went on to obtain her Masters of Occupational Therapy from Barry University and graduated with Honors in 2013. Amanda is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. Amanda has an additional certification in Orthopedic Physician Extender. Amanda has achieved the highest recognition in upper extremity treatment by earning a Certification in Hand Therapy. Amanda has worked in a variety of settings, however her passion for orthopedics brought her to OrthoNOW Doral Rehab in Fall 2018.

Arley Avila Prieto, PTA


Arley graduated from Dad Medical College in 2015 with his Associates in Physical Therapy Assistant. Arley has been working on out patient orthopedics since 2015. Arley takes a hands-on approach with his patients, ensuring sperior care is given to all. Arley is very experienced in all orthopedic condistions. He is planning to start his Manual Therapy Certification in earlty 2019.

Manuel Rodriguez-Leiva, APRN-BC, ONC


Manuel Rodriguez-Leiva is an experienced Orthopedic Trained Nurse Practitioner born and raised in Cuba where he formerly practiced as a Hand Surgeon for 12 years before relocating to the US in 2003. He graduated with honors from Florida International University in 2008 before attending University of Turabo for his Family Nurse Practitioner studies. Manuel has sustained several professional certifications as Orthopedic Nurse, Registered Nurse First Assistant and Peri-Operative Nurse with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. Skilled in Hand Surgery, Microsurgery, Ortho trauma, mini invasive procedures, joint reconstruction/Arthroplasties and Clinical Research. Strong healthcare professional with a Master of Science in Nursing degree focused in Orthopedics and Research. He is also bilingual in English and Spanish. Manny’s interests include traveling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Yanira Serralta Clinician

Yanira Serralta, PA-C

Yanira Serralta was born in Cuba and raised in Finland. She attended School for Advanced Studies high school and graduated with honors. For her undergraduate studies in Florida International University, she majored in political science and pre-med. She was also on the Dean’s list for several consecutive years. After graduating from the Miami-Dade College Physician Assistant program in 2010, she has maintained her certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and was part of the official Miami Ironman 70.3 medical team in 2012.  Yanira is also bilingual in English and Spanish.

Her lifetime involvement in athletics allows her to relate with many of the patient’s we see and their desire to return to their activities in a prompt manner. Yanira’s hobbies include skiing, weight lifting and golf.

Angela Villada, COTA/L

OrthoNOW, Physician Assistant

Angela is a certified occupational therapy assistant who graduated from Keiser University in 2015. Angela joined OrthoNOW Doral Rehab in Spring 2017. She has vast experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting treating from a simple condistion to an extremely complex surgery. Angela offers a patient centered, hands on therapy approach, nurturing recovery in the most gentle and rapid manner.
