Mayor Juan Carlos “JC” Bermudez is the founding Mayor of the City of Doral and returned to office in 2016 as its Mayor. As Mayor for the first 9 1/2 years of the city’s history. Bermudez oversaw the creation of the city’s award winning Finance and Parks departments, adding over 121 acres of playgrounds, ballfields and recreational facilities. During the first Bermudez administration Doral received numerous national accolades including Best City for Business Start Ups by Bumsiness Week, #2 of America’s top 25 Towns to live well in Forbes.com.. Additionally, he received the Good Government Award from The Greater Miami Chamber of commerce inc 2009. Mr. Bermudez earned his B.A. from University of Miami and his law degree from Notre Dame. He has practiced law in South Florida for the past 28 years and is a partner at Lubell Rosen, LLC.
Maria C. Alonso, President & CEO of United Way of Miami-Dade, joined the United Way team in August 2017 after a 22-year camallereer with Bank of America, most recently as senior vice president and Miami market manager responsible for the bank’s corporate social responsibility and employee engagement strategies. er past and current leadership roles include serving on the boards of The Miami Foundation, Camillus House, the Miami Dade College Foundation, the March of Dimes, and Teach For America.Maria holds a master’s of business administration in marketing from Florida International University and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Miami. She resides in Coral Gables with her husband Alex Montague and furry members of their family.
Dr. Michael Greiwe, CEO of OrthoLive, was named a “Top Doctor” by Cincinnati Magazine in 2014, 2015, 2016, and again in 2017, and selected as a Finalist for the Cincinnati Business Courier’s “2014 Health Care Heroes” Innovator Award for his work in research and advanced surgical techniques. He won the Legacy Leadership Award for Health Care in 2014. He serves as Editor of the shoulder and elbow textbook, Shoulder & Elbow Trauma and its Complications, published by Elsevier in 2015Recently, Dr. Greiwe developed a novel rotator cuff-sparing method for shoulder replacement, improving recovery time and pain post-operatively.
Shaun Jacob Shawn Jacob is OrthoLive’s Chief Revenue Officer. He brings close to two decades of healthcare experience to the team. Over the last 10 years Shaun has lead two healthcare companies through national expansion and massive revenue growth. He looks forward to helping OrthoLive replicate that same hockey stick growth and become a household name in Orthopedic Telemedicine.
Richard Klass has 30 years of national and international management consulting, strategic planning, and market research experience. His healthcare experience extends to hospital systems, the medical device industry, managed care organizations, the pharmaceutical industry, medical practices, and other healthcare related entities. He is a frequent lecturer to healthcare organizations, well authored in medical practice management, and served as faculty to the University of Miami School of Business (Healthcare Management Managed Care and Capitation Program). Richard’s recent publications include his book Strategic Planning In The Real World, and several articles on predictive analytics. Richard is a co-founder of KCI Partners, Inc. and served as Senior VP and Chief Strategy Officer for the Jackson Health System, and Worldwide Director for Market Research for Cordis Corporation, a Johnson and Johnson subsidiary.

Dan Pace is CEO of First Financial, an organization dedicated to providing a broad spectrum of financial services to its clients including; equipment leasing, SBA loans, commercial mortgages, as well as secured and unsecured lines of credit. He attended Penn State and played middle linebacker before entering the financial world. After six years as a commodities broker Dan relocated to Florida. His main objective as CEO has been to develop vendor relationships with not only large organizations but to reach out to the smaller up and coming vendors to provide their customers with leasing and financing options. As CFO, Dan has worked diligently to ensure that his portfolio performance remains stellar in order to provide his clients with the most competitive financing programs available.
Scott Parlett represents Compex, a division of DJO Global, and a leader in neuromuscular electronic stimulation (EMS) products used for Electro Neuro Muscular Therapy (ENMT). The program uses specific low-level frequencies to increase blood flow, remove lactic acid, release endorphins, and promote muscle relaxation. The Compex device provides an electrical current at a specifically designed frequency to target motor nerves. These nerves activate the muscle to contract based on the amount of resistance applied through the device.
Christian Pillat is the Managing Director and Founder of Adfinitely. Adfinitely works with Franchises and National Brands to launch online marketing campaigns. Over the last 6 years, Christian has successfully launched marketing campaigns for over 80 nationally recognized brands. He is a thought leader in digital marketing for multi-location businesses, has been featured on the Eric Holtzclaw Building a Better Business Radio Show, and was recently named one of Atlanta’s 30 Under 30.
Dr. David Ross is a board certified neurologist. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in 1975 and University of Miami School of Medicine 1979. His Neurology residency was completed at the Longwood Area Training Program – Harvard Medical School in 1983. He developed a professional interest in the evaluation and management of chronic pain, and has been a consultant to many universities and companies. He is the inventor of the Neurophysiologic Pain Profile, which won an award from Time Magazine and others as one of best American Inventions in 2006. He recently authored with Dr. Barry Nierenberg a training module on chronic pain which has become the United Kingdom’s standard for Accreditation on Whiplash and Associated Injuries.
Nadia Tarazi is a Multi-Media Producer turned Executive Coach who dramatically improved her own focus and relationship with food through micronutrition, and wanted to help others do the same: she worked with scientists and micronutrient experts to develop the MicroNourish System and online magazine. Nadia has an MBA from Columbia University and London Business School, an MA in Media & Communications from the University of London, and is a certified coach, trained by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (visit IIN’s LinkedIn page), the Coaches Training Institute and the NLP Institute.
Ritchie Taylor, CFE, has been a member of Manning Fulton’s corporate practice group for 16 years. Ritchie’s clients appreciate his results oriented approach to the practice of law where he helps clients navigate the legal requirements to achieve their objectives. He serves as the primary franchise counsel to over two dozen franchise systems and dealer networks. Ritchie routinely works with franchisees in evaluating and negotiating franchise disclosure documents. Ritchie serves on the Board of Governors of the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives, He serves on the International Franchise Association’s Supplier Forum Board where he helps the franchise trade association advance its agenda to enhance and protect franchising.
H. Thomas Temple, MD, is a general orthopaedic surgeon fellowship-trained in musculoskeletal oncology. He has a strong clinical interest in regenerative medicine. He also holds the title of Senior Vice President of Translation Research and Economic Development at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Temple received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University, and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed an internship in general surgery and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He trained in orthopaedic oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Don Wittekind is CEO of Swarm Interactive, publisher of the award-winning ViewMedica Patient Education system. A former visual journalist, Wittekind co-founded Swarm in 1998 when a Fort Lauderdale-based orthopedic practice asked him and his partners to animate several conditions and surgeries to help educate their patients. The resulting videos were hugely popular, resulting in requests from doctors around the world. Twenty years later the ViewMedica library includes nearly 1,200 patient education videos as well as the ViewMedica On-Demand patient education app and the VMcast Waiting Room TV app.
