Onsite Diagnostic Services

OrthoNOW Offers A Full Range of State-of-the-Art Orthopedic Diagnostic Services

Our services are designed to help get you fully-treated on your first visit in under one hour.

After suffering an injury, the last thing you want is to wait several hours or days to figure out what is wrong. Visiting a traditional Urgent Care or ER can take hours or even a full day and only result in being referred to an orthopedic specialist. OrthoNOW Biscayne has a full array of diagnostic imaging available on site, providing you with identification of your injury as well as treatment – all in less than an hour.
Our orthopedic clinic is able to provide:

Digital X-Ray

Gone are the days of waiting for film to be processed, developed, dried and analyzed before providing a diagnosis. Our Biscayne center houses fully digital technology, enabling us to take and process digital X-Rays in under one minute. Since the images are captured digitally, less harmful radiation is used in the process, reducing exposure to our patients. Digital X-Rays also allow our technicians to get a clearer view of your injury through the ability to zoom in and out on-screen, catching the smallest tears and fractures and providing a more thorough and accurate diagnosis. Since the images are stored, you no longer need to worry about lost films or prints.

Ultrasound

In order to pinpoint the exact location of your injury, you may need an ultrasound, an imaging exam performed externally. After applying gel to the area of the injury, a technician will use a wand that projects sound waves through your body, reflecting back in the shape of what is happening inside. The sound waves allow our onsite clinicians to see what the problem may be before making a treatment recommendation. An ultrasound is often performed in conjunction with an MRI in order to get a more comprehensive look at what may be causing the patient’s pain and provide better treatment.

Fluoroscopy

A fluoroscopy can be performed in order to provide an instant diagnosis to internal problems. By having the patient consume contrast dye orally or intravenously, the physician in charge will be able to better visualize the bones, muscles, and tendons, creating a clearer image of what may be causing pain. A continuous X-Ray is administered through the area where the injury is located and projected onto a nearby screen, providing a live picture for our clinicians to examine and diagnose. A fluoroscopy is often performed in addition to an arthrography, which can be used to diagnose problems in the tendons, muscles, and joints and can be used as a diagnostic tool, as well as performed for additional visualization during surgical procedures.

MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging

An MRI, which stands for magnetic resonance imaging, is a key tool our expert clinicians use to diagnose injuries or conditions that can’t be identified otherwise. An MRI is used to examine bones, joints and soft tissues such as cartilage, tendons, and muscles for the presence of structural damage, defects, infection, etc..

When it comes to getting the right diagnosis for your orthopedic injury or condition, you don’t want to compromise on the quality of your MRI. And you shouldn’t have to—your health is too important. That’s why at OrthoNOW Biscayne, we believe our patients deserve the highest quality of orthopedic care possible, and we strive to provide them with exceptional MRI services at an affordable rate. From the advanced technology we use to our expert staff reading the scans, our focus is always on the quality of our patients’ care.

Pre-Concussion Testing

After a fall or sports injury, you may be willing to let a headache slip by as a minor result of your accident. However, a headache can be a signifier of a much bigger problem: a concussion. Left untreated, a concussion can lead to long-term problems such as personality changes, light and noise sensitivity, memory issues and depression. Because concussion symptoms can be delayed after an accident by hours or days, you may not think you need to undergo an examination immediately after an accident. However, if you begin to exhibit signs that something is wrong, it is critical to undergo testing as soon as possible. Symptoms of a concussion include nausea, loss of balance, difficulty speaking and short-term memory loss. Our center offers the top technology in the field, allowing us to provide you with a full diagnosis and treatment, regardless of how severe the concussion is. After a full course of treatment, we will be able to perform another test to clear you for athletics and other activity.
